Are you hot enough?
Did you know that you need sunscreen out in the garden even when it isn’t hot? A local Backyard Breastie was recently treated for skin cancer on her ankle so slather up all over to be safe. She is recovering well but as you can imagine, the news was not welcome.
Post-treatment, sun-safe gardening is part of our mission here at Backyard Breasties. Neither one of us had what we needed to head back to the backyard after treatment.
It’s probably no surprise that the Hibiscus tropical design is our fave.
So…confession…I didn’t get sunburn before cancer meds. I had a long (and whiny) discussion today with my book club group chat about sunscreen.
I am outside, all day gardening and yesterday I got sunburn using a new sunscreen. I should have stuck with the sunscreen Britany introduced to me…Bare Republic mineral sunscreen.
Yeah.. one day soon I will figure out how to size these and arrange them right but right now, I just want to get you a good sunscreen!
Full disclosure, it has glitter. 😆 But I mean if I am going to be sweaty in the garden maybe a little glitter is appropriate? Yes…it makes me grey. This is because it is a mineral sunscreen, which is healthier for you. (Or so I hear)
That is my hand with the sunscreen rubbed in. I mean, I am not trying to get a date in my garden right?
It for sure works better than the not-to-be-named store brand spray I tried.
